Space Shuttle Middeck Stowage Tray - Large

This is a “large” Space Shuttle Program Stowage Tray NASA part #3-661202-001 serial # 076.

These trays were typically used for stowing clothing, hardware, and food for use during Space Shuttle flights. One of these (or two small) Stowage Trays were designed to fit in a full size Middeck Locker. It weighs about 3.4 lbs. and holds about 1.8 cubic feet of stowage.

Included, is a photocopy of a NASA drawing referencing the tray dimensions. It can’t be determined if this tray was ever flown and is presumed unflown. The cloth handle often used as a “pull” is not attached. Photos can be seen showing similar trays (not this one) in use on the Space Shuttle.

Purchased as NASA Surplus. Stowage Tray is contained in the original NASA storage bag with Cleaned for Service and parts identification label. There is also a parts ID tag and numerous numbers stenciled on the inside wall along with another label with s/n.

Several of these trays with cracks or other damage are available for $50.00. These are not returnable.
